Briefing the Transformation
Sophie's 1970s townhouse in Leuven had solid bones but a tired, leaky front façade. The timber door rattled in winter winds, and the original single-glazed picture window left the living room exposed to the street — and the afternoon sun. She asked us for a cohesive solution that would protect the family, raise the façade’s curb appeal, and blend with the street’s heritage brickwork.
Engineering a Unified Façade
We specified an aluminium entrance door from our Security+ line, built around a steel core and equipped with a 10-point locking system. The handle is a single piece of anodised aluminium, deliberately tall so it can be grasped comfortably at any height. The matching triple-glazed lounge window uses solar-control glass and integrates a discreet flyscreen panel, giving the family daylight without inviting insects.
For shading and privacy, we added a motorised roller shutter in the same deep anthracite finish. It tucks neatly above the frame, dropping silently when the street grows busy or the summer heat rolls in. The garden-side entrance mirrors the façade detailing, pairing a panoramic sliding door with the same motorised shutter so Sophie can open the house to the terrace while maintaining privacy for evening gatherings.
Everyday Impact
The ground floor now holds a steady temperature, the hallway no longer echoes with draughts, and evening light is controlled with a tap of the home automation app. The refreshed façade respects the rhythm of the street while delivering modern performance, giving Sophie the peace of mind she was after.
